Terms of Use — House Divided

These Terms of Use govern your use of House Divided ("the app"), published by Andromeda Studios ("we," "us"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Your license

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use House Divided on Apple devices you own or control, for your own personal and educational use. The app is licensed to you, not sold. Your use is also subject to Apple's App Store Terms of Service and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

Purchases

House Divided is free to download, and the first five Moments are free to read. Full Access is a single, one-time purchase that permanently unlocks all 152 Moments and every feature. It is not a subscription — there are no recurring charges. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store; pricing, billing, restoring purchases, and any refunds are handled by Apple under its terms. Full Access supports Family Sharing.

Acceptable use

You agree not to copy, redistribute, sell, rent, sublicense, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source code or content of the app, except to the extent permitted by law.

Content and intellectual property

The app's original writing, curation, organization, and design are the property of Andromeda Studios. House Divided draws on historical documents, artworks, and primary sources — many in the public domain or held by public collections such as the Library of Congress, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Portrait Gallery, and the Smithsonian — and those underlying materials remain the property of their respective holders. The app's original material may not be reproduced without our permission.

Educational purpose and no warranty

House Divided is provided for educational and informational purposes. We have worked to present historical material faithfully and drawn from the record, but we make no warranty that the content is complete or free of error, and it is not a substitute for primary research. The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Andromeda Studios will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the app.

Apple

Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them. Where these Terms conflict with Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, Apple's terms govern your license to use the app on Apple devices.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time; the date above will reflect the current version. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
